An Australian and an American held captive by the Taliban have been forced to beg for their lives in a sick propaganda video.
Timothy Weekes, an English teacher from Sydney, and his American colleague Kevin King, appear bearded and gaunt as they are seen for the first time since their abduction in August last year.
The pair, who were last seen in the Afghan capital of Kabul, are shown begging President-elect Donald Trump to exchange them for prisoners held at Bagram air field and at Pul-e-Charkhi prison.
If Trump refuses to negotiate with the terror group, then Weekes and King will be killed, the men tell viewers.
In the tape, Weekes claims the date is January 1, four months after American special forces tried and failed to rescue the pair.
Weekes and King were working at the American University of Afghanistan, in Kabul, when they disappeared on August 7 last year.
The men ‘were forcibly removed from their vehicle while traveling in Kabul’ before vanishing, according to the FBI.
In the video, Weekes says he and King were leaving the university that day when they were ambushed and captured by ‘four heavily armed Taliban members.’
